| Module Description: |
This module provides an introduction to contemporary geography, explaining processes and problems of physical environments and human landscapes. Natural as well as human-induced changes are considered. Thus, the module provides a basic examination of natural processes which operate at or near Earth's surface covering the biosphere, hydrosphere, atmosphere and pedosphere. It also explores critical issues in space and society: flows of capital, culture and people as well as place identity. The module is designed as an introductory module for first year Geography students, as well as a general module for cross faculty students hoping to understand the foundations of the discipline. |
